Two types of cores in steel wire rope

Generally speaking, steel wire ropes have 2 different inner cores. One is steel core and the other is fabric core.

Steel cores are stronger and fiber cores are softer. 

Both sisal and jute cores are natural cores. They are cheaper and have good extrusion resistance, are not easily deformed. And soft but not strong as steel cores.

PP core is a kind of artificial core, that has a long life of use.

For steel wire ropes with the same structure and the same diameter, the steel wore will be much more stronger than the hemp cores.
